Semi:Formal created the brand identity for Medusa, Chef Anthony Lombardo’s Sicilian restaurant in Detroit. Rooted in the history, mythology, and culinary traditions of Sicily, the identity draws from the Trinacria, Mount Etna, the legend of Cola Pesce, and the vibrant ornamentation of traditional Sicilian carretto. Together, these references shape a rich visual world of typography, pattern, and illustration that unfolds throughout the dining experience — extending across menus, signage, and digital, while helping shape the character and atmosphere of the space itself.
